The KDYS Integration Team is a new team within KDYS which will focus on delivering services and supports for young people and families with International Protection status including those with Temporary Residency Status including Ukrainian Refugees in County Kerry.

We are inviting applications for the following posts:   

 

Integration Lead Worker

Full time (35 hours per week) – Fixed Term Contract until 31st December 2024 –  26 days annual leave pro rata – Paid sick leave scheme  –  Flexible working – based in KDYS Tralee

 

2 x Integration Project Workers

Full time (35 hours per week) – Fixed Term Contract until 31st December 2024 – 26 days annual leave pro rata – Paid sick leave scheme  –  Flexible working – based in KDYS Killarney / KDYS Tralee

HR Administrator

The ideal candidate for this position will be a skilled professional who can provide exceptional support to the HR Manager and wider KDYS team. Their primary responsibilities will include providing and efficient, confidential, and flexible high-level administration service to the HR Department.  This post requires the utmost professionalism, discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive information while maintaining confidentiality. The post holder will possess outstanding communication skills, multitasking abilities, and the capacity to anticipate needs and proactively address them.

Expansion of our Relief & Sessional Worker Panel

We are currently expanding our Relief Panel & Sessional Worker Panel!!

 

We are forming a panel of suitably qualified personnel who may be engaged to undertake short-term work with various programmes throughout the organisation.

Sessional Workers

are experts in their field and may be engaged to deliver specialist programmes through out the organisation.

 

Relief Panel

placement on our relief panel allows you to avail of short term pieces of work in various departments throughout the organisation – Youth Work, Youth Information, Family Support, Administration, Website/Social Media etc.

 

The benefits of being on the panel allows you gain quality work experience, build your professional profile, accept/decline work on your own availability, experience various aspects of the work as you develop your career and so much more!

Applicants should have qualification in own field or specialism, if applicable, strong communication and inter-personal skills, be flexible in approach to work, ability to work individually or as part of a team.  Experience in similar setting is desirable.

 

  • Rate of pay is variable subject budget and requirements of the duties undertaken
  • Placement on the panel is not a guarantee of employment
  • Employment with KDYS is subject to a satisfactory response from the Garda Vetting Unit being received in relation to any candidate under consideration and satisfactory reference checks being received.

KDYS is expanding its board to recruit 7 new non-Executive directors

KDYS are seeking interested individuals who would like to give of their knowledge, skills and experience to support the work of the organisation in providing quality and progressive services to the young people of Kerry, their families and communities.

 

ABOUT KDYS:

Founded in 1971, KDYS is a voluntary youth work organisation providing a range of programmes and services to young people and communities across the entire county of Kerry.

Our vision is for all young people to be valued and supported to achieve their full potential as participating members of the community.

Our mission is that KDYS is a community-based youth work organisation committed to serving all young people in a safe, fun and positive environment, through the provision of youth spaces, services, mentoring, training and ongoing opportunities for their holistic development, and by advocating for their needs.

Our goals for 2023 to 2025 are:

  • Support young people in Kerry to achieve their full potential
  • Provide targeted and integrated supports to meet the needs of young people in Kerry and their families
  • Be recognised as a centre of excellence for youth work
  • Establish ourselves as an independent young person-centred charity
  • Strengthen our governance, management and internal coordination
  • Be an organisation that enables staff and volunteers to deliver and develop

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

In line with our goals for 2023 to 2025 we are now planning to strengthen our board with governance, management and internal coordination.

KYDS is recruiting an additional SEVEN new Non-Executive Directors, with any one the following skills:

  • Accountancy and Finance
  • Marketing and PR
  • Human resources
  • Legal
  • Community Youth and Family support skills
  • Fundraising and social enterprise

New board members will also be expected to chair or participate in subcommittee of the board.

Previous board experience is desirable but not essential.

Candidates with local knowledge, experience of working with young people and in the voluntary sector are preferred. Our goal is that at least four will be female candidates.

 

INFORMATION

The Board meets 9 times per year. Most of these meetings are virtual the others are held in Killarney, Co. Kerry; the board meets in Killarney at least once per year.

KDYS will provide new board members induction training and ongoing board development.

The term of office is three years with an option to be reappointed for a second and third term.

This is a trustee role and KYDS is a charity, in compliance with Regulatory requirements this role is not remunerated, but expenses are reimbursed following approval by the Board Chair.
