&
Court Accompaniment Project Worker
Full time (35 hours per week) – Fixed Term Contract – 26 days annual leave – Paid sick leave scheme – EAP – Flexible working – Kerry based
The post holders are exceptional individuals who endeavour to make a difference in the lives of young people and their families by promoting a culture of integrity and compliance within KDYS, and by operating in line with our organisational mission, vision and values: Young Person Centred, Rights Based, Empowering, Inclusive, Respectful, and Non-judgemental.
KDYS Youth Diversion work involves working with young people involved in, or at risk of being involved in, crime and anti-social behaviour to help them make positive life choices. The project works with young people across Kerry, and project workers engage with young people individually, either in the home, school or community setting – depending on where suits the young person. Working with the Kerry Gardaí, the project is informed by National Youth Justice Strategy, best practice, and evidence in youth justice.
The project is now expanding to respond to needs by the families of the service users and embarking on a pilot project to support young people as they attend court proceedings.
